COLOUR RENDERING AND CONTROL IN MUSEUM LIGHTING
Galeria Sztuki Polskiej, part of the National Museum in Kraków, required updated lighting as part of its renovation. Accurate colour rendering was a central consideration, particularly for the presentation of paintings and other artworks.
The museum’s existing track installation was retained, making compatibility with the infrastructure an important consideration for the project. The lighting also needed to provide flexibility and individual control of the luminaires.
SPOTLIGHTS DEVELOPED FOR THE PROJECT
LIK Lighting’s role focused on the development and production of track spotlights rather than the overall lighting design. High colour rendering and individual dimming were central requirements, shaping how the luminaires were developed for the museum.
-
Achieve high colour rendering for the presentation of artworks
Enable individual dimming directly on the luminaires
Retain the museum's existing track installation
Allow flexibility in adjusting the lighting
Reduce power consumption as part of the renovation
-
The project uses Special Zoom Spot and T-Spot Smart with on-fixture dimming, allowing each luminaire to be adjusted individually.
Beam angles were selected in collaboration with the museum to suit the lighting requirements of the artworks. The spotlights were adapted to work with the existing track installation.
