Architect & designer Lars Vejen
Danish architect and designer Lars Vejen explores the relationship between materials, space and function.
His collaboration with LIK brings this architectural perspective together with our lighting expertise, creating collections with distinct character and a clear sense of purpose.
We work closely with architects, engineers and lighting designers to develop lighting for specific projects. Many products in our collection began with a particular space in mind, shaped by its architecture, atmosphere and practical needs. Some have proved versatile beyond the original brief and become part of our architectural lighting range.

Product development also begins within LIK.
Jan Markussen, Martin Dragø and Michael Jensen draw on their practical lighting experience to develop products that respond to the needs of a project, bringing design and technical understanding together.
The Hybrid series is one example of this approach.

From understanding the space to lighting it
UNDERSTANDING THE PROJECT
We begin with the architecture, the people who use the space and what the lighting needs to achieve. Working with the project team, we clarify the design intentions, functional requirements and practical constraints that guide the lighting scheme.
DEVELOPING THE SOLUTION
We bring lighting design, product selection and technical specification together. Our own products, selected international brands and bespoke solutions allow us to respond to the project, considering how light distribution, colour rendering and controls support the space.
BRINGING IT INTO PRACTICE
Design decisions need to work on site as well as on paper. Depending on the project, we support technical coordination, installation and commissioning, including aiming and final adjustments to help realise the intended lighting.
