LIK Lighting was founded on a simple conviction: light shapes everything. Not as an afterthought, but as the essential element that defines how spaces function and how people inhabit them.

The name itself—Light, Interior, Knowledge—reflects our belief that great lighting requires all three. It demands technical mastery, aesthetic sensibility, and a deep understanding of human needs.

We began by curating some of Scandinavia’s finest lighting brands and combining them with our own expertise in design and consulting.

What started as a vision in Denmark has grown into a trusted partnership across Scandinavia and beyond, working with architects, designers, and major commercial clients who refuse to compromise on quality.

We do not separate light from the spaces it inhabits. Every project begins with understanding the room, the people within it, and what they need to thrive.
This is where knowledge meets craft.

From a single vision to a regional force

LIK Lighting's growth reflects a simple truth: when you understand light, you understand space. The milestones below trace our journey from a single conviction to a regional force trusted by architects and major commercial clients across Scandinavia and beyond.

2010
The beginning

Jan Markussen, Michael Jensen and Martin Dragø founded LIK Lighting with a clear vision: light deserved to be treated as foundation, not afterthought. The first curated collection of premium brands took shape in Denmark.

2013
Expanding the network

Partnerships with Louis Poulsen and other select brands strengthened our position. Architects and designers across Scandinavia began seeking us out for solutions that combined technical rigour with aesthetic integrity.

Scaling with purpose

Major commercial clients—retail chains, hotel groups, corporate offices—recognised our approach. We grew not by chasing volume, but by deepening relationships and delivering solutions that endured.

2026
Today and beyond

LIK Lighting now operates as a trusted partner across Scandinavia and internationally, including Hong Kong. Our commitment to human-centric and sustainable lighting continues to define every project we undertake.
