LIGHTING A COUNTRY CLUB IN TRANSITION
In 2020, HimmerLand underwent an extensive renovation, with gradual updates to its hospitality, wellness and golf facilities. The lighting needed to support the renewed interiors while integrating with existing areas and installations.
DESIGNING FOR VISUAL COMFORT
LIK Lighting was involved from the beginning of the project, providing lighting design and specification. Existing luminaires and colour temperatures formed part of the brief, requiring new lighting to work alongside what was already in place.
Visual comfort was another consideration, with low-glare luminaires selected throughout the project. CRI 90 was used for colour rendering.
-
Integrate new lighting with existing installations and interiors
Create continuity between renovated and existing areas
Maintain consistent colour temperature across old and new lighting
Minimise glare throughout the spaces
Introduce dimming and lighting control as part of the renovation
-
Rather than starting from scratch, LIK selected new luminaires to work alongside the existing lighting, matching colour temperatures across the different areas. DALI dimming was incorporated into the solution, with system programming carried out by the on-site electrician.
As the renovation progressed, LIK visited the site to review completed areas and spaces scheduled for the next stage. The involvement continued through final on-site aiming and adjustment of the lighting.
