RETHINKING LIGHTING FOR A CHANGING RETAIL SPACE
The expansion of NORMAL’s store at Fisketorvet in Copenhagen required a revised lighting plan to accommodate the new layout.
LIK Lighting developed the plan, specifying the positioning of spotlights and general lighting throughout the store. The design needed to follow NORMAL's established retail concept, providing an evenly lit environment while directing light towards the products.
As the store fittings and product placement changed, further adjustments were needed to maintain effective product lighting while reducing glare towards customers.

LIK developed the revised lighting plan and supplied tracks, spotlights and general lighting for the expanded store. Additional tracks were, for example, introduced as the fittings and product positions changed. This gave greater flexibility in positioning and aiming spotlights towards the merchandise while reducing glare towards customers.
Different luminaires serve different purposes throughout the store. T-Spot Smart spotlights provide targeted lighting for merchandise, while Moon luminaires provide general lighting in the aisles. Zoom Spots are used for decorative features and signage, and Ciondolo pendants are positioned above the counter. A colour temperature of 3000 K is used in the main retail area and 4000 K for the window displays. The spotlights were subsequently aimed to suit the final merchandise layout.
